Cell Phone Radiation Protection Triggers Assessable Brain Cell Changes in Mere Minutes

As small as 10 minutes on a cell phone can activate changes in brain cell associated to cell division and tumor, suggests a new cram conducted by researchers from the Weizmann Institute of Science & Technology in Israel as well as published in the Biochemical Journal.

Formerly, advocates of cell-phone security have maintained that the cell phones cannot cause brain harm since the microwave radiation that they release is at a level too low to warmth the body's cells. But in the novel study, changes in biological process began at an energy level even lower than that use by a classic phone, even with no heating occurring.

"Safety guiding principles assume [that] health effects from cell phone radiation can only occur when major heating of body tissue occurs. [But] this study shows biological change in reaction to low-level cell phone radiation -- something that might potentially have implication for fitness," said Graham Philips of the British non-profit Power watch.

Researchers expose both human with rat cells to low-level cell phone radiation at a frequency of 875 megahertz, a like frequency to that used by nearly all cellular phones. The intensity of the cell phone radiation was far lower than that utilize by most cell phones, however.

Even so, in 10 minutes the scientists experiential changes within the cells. A chemical switch modifiable cell division was switched on -- a switch that has been connected to a variety of cancers.

There was no straight evidence of cancer inducement in the existing study. But, the researchers point out that the change happening at the low radiation level were non-thermal in natural world, something before said to be not possible. Thus, the studies challenge the complete basis on which cell phones presupposition of safety has been based.

"The consequence lies in showing cells do respond to cell-phone radiation in a non-thermal method," said co-author Rony Seger. "We used radiation power levels that were approximately one tenth of those formed by a normal mobile. The changes we experiential were clearly not caused by heating."

"This helps explain why cell phone radiation has been associated to increases in cancer tumors," said user health advocate Mike Adams. "Until now, skeptics have said the cell phone radiation wasn't intense sufficient to cause cells to swelter, but now we're learning there can be important cellular change taking place at far inferior levels of exposure."
