Online poker and other casinos games are by now legal in South Africa, provided that it was conducted on sites in side the country. But online poker and other online gambling were forbidden by the National Gambling Act of 2004 as government desired more time to investigate how to control and tax these sectors that were rising rapidly at the time. It would afterward be tabled in the National Assembly for last authorization, according to a recent report.
So at present, no online poker, online gambling, or other foreign sports betting site is lawfully licensed in South Africa to provide services to residents of South Africa, even if the service provider has a suitable license to function granted by another country.
