Veterans want to overcome Casino Dead Issue

Casino gambling in Massachusetts might look like a dead issue, but some Bay State veterans are wants to overcome it. In actual fact, Bay State residents can both gamble and do well by home veterans under a suggestion by a longtime Hub developer.

John Ryan, a World War II Navy veteran and longtime head of Ryan Elliott Associates, has assisted put together the growth sites for a numeral of Boston landmarks, comprising the Federal Reserve tower and the garage adjacent to the Hancock Tower. Now Ryan, 80, is promoting his current huge idea, a casino off the Massachusetts Turnpike in Worcester, which would contribute $25 million a year to veterans' causes. "I just think the moment of failure is the moment of opportunity," said Ryan. "It's about the veterans. We are on a mission."
